Inpatient management is required for those with moderate to severe degrees of physical, cognitive and/or behavioural deficits. The focus is on comprehensive assessment by the team for:

- TBI-related neurological and functional impairments
- post traumatic amnesia assessment, monitoring and management
- comprehensive management of post-traumatic agitation
- retraining in activities of daily living and ambulation
- gait and balance training
- pain management
- cognitive and behavioural assessment and management
- pharmacological management for cognitive, behavioural disorders and depression
- assistive technology -----prescription of: wheelchairs, gait aids & augmentative communication devices
- dysphagia assessment and management
- rehabilitation nursing for bladder and bowel issues
- continence training
- nursing management in minimally responsive states
- coma recovery charting and sensory reguation
- coordination of concomitant acute medical care
- environmental manipulation for restlessness
- family education and counselling
